Santa Lucia

In the heart of Deauville town this Pizzeria usually has queues around the corner as people go there to eat the very best food and also to be seen. The same staff and chefs have been there as long as we've been coming to Deauville and te owner, a short, grey haired man carrying a very sizeable stomach has hardly changed at all. As we ate our meal Dad spotted Soumillon, another top class French Jockey, eating with friends in the corner. The walls are covered in racing memorabilia- many framed photos of the owner with famous faces from the world of racing- jockeys, owners and trainers- lots of stunning portraits of successful horses. Apart from the Drakkar it is THE place to be seen at if you're anything to do with racing. Hector was very quick to point out on the column next to us a signed picture of none other than the great winning partnership of JH and Cash being presented a trophy for the Michael Tabor colours. He felt very priveliged indeed to have been in the company of such men.

Hector thoroughly enjoyed his first of many meals at Santa Lucia.
We retired at about half past ten- the end of a magnificent day.
