Very first journey on a ferry

First thing we did when aboard the ferry was to get some breakfast- high quality English fry up- washed down nicely with some "fresh" orange juice. We also changed Allan voicemail message to get people to call him on the French mobile.

With the wonders of a ferry to explore Hector and I went for a walk and found loads to do. The views of the white cliffs of Dover were quite something, Hector wanted to know if we'd find a Mrs Moose in France as he hadn't seen any since Calgary but I wasn't able to ake any promises.

In stead I distracted him with the vital safety demonstration- he is now aware of what to do in the event of having to abandon ship. First he should roll down the rope ladder to the water; then clear the way for the lifeboats to be lowered and stand by with the life ring in case any of the women and children should slip or fall overboard.

He was then trained in how to tackle a fire on board, the fire marshall was very impressed with his bright red hoodie and made Hector an honorary fire-fighting-moose for the vessel. He was very proud and had me take a photo of him at his post a'top the hose.

On further exploration we found the arcades and while passing up House Of The Living Dead XXVI Hector was very taken by the fruit machines. Fortunately for legal reasons he could only press the buttons and look at the flashing lights or else he would likely have spent all his euros in one go. Fortunately the journey was very quick and we had to get back in the car before he noticed the gobstopper machine.
